Coleman Simmons is the Program Chair of the Air Conditioning Technology program at Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia. Coleman has over 20 years of experience working in the HVAC/R field and is NATE certified. He is a 2004 graduate of Athens Technical College with a Diploma in Air Conditioning Technology and an associate degree of Applied Technical Management from Athens Technical College. Coleman received a Bachelor of Science degree in Specialty (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) Construction Management from Southern Polytechnic State University in 2010.
Coleman lives in Winder, Georgia with his wife Amanda and their two daughters. Coleman has had an interest in the HVAC/R field since an early age. While in high school, he won the Northeast Georgia Regional Science and Engineering Fair three years in a row and placed 1st in the Engineering Division of the Georgia State Science and Engineering Fair for two consecutive years by designing, building and testing a refrigeration and a multi-compressor heat pump system. Coleman has been teaching Air Conditioning Technology at Athens Technical College since March of 2011. He finds great enjoyment in sharing his passion and knowledge of the HVAC/R industry with others. Coleman is very fortunate to work with outstanding faculty members in the HVAC program and together they aspire to help others to set and reach their career goals in this great industry.
